On this day you can wander from studio to studio meeting Painters, Designers, Textile Artists and learn about workshops available in Printmaking, Bookbinding and Felt Making.

STREAT
STREAT believes large intractable social problems like youth homelessness and disadvantage are hard to swallow. They work towards a creative, large-scale response. STREAT's foodservice social enterprise is dedicated to providing a supported pathway to long term employment for young people who have been living on the street or at risk of being on the street. They work with others like you to change it - one meal at a time.
'Pork' by Jeff Martin will be auctioned with no reserve on the 24th of March 2011 for this very worth cause.
JKBFletcher opens at 45 Downstairs on Tuesday 17th of May 2011. 5.30pm to 7.30pm.

Café Society

With 40 large works on paper celebrating Melbourne’s unique cafe culture, this is a very large exhibition of ink washes, each piece drawn in situ over six months.
Presented by Gould Galleries Melbourne, Café Society is officially part of the 2010 Melbourne Food and Wine Festival.
The exhibition will opening will be held on Saturday the 13th of March 2010 from 2.00 to 5.00pm.

The Annual Somers Arts Fair will be held on Sunday the 25th of October, 2009 at the Somers Primary School. This is a unique event for a unique community. With loads of entertainment and food the day is finished with an art auction to raise funds for the school. The fun starts at 10am leading up to the big Auction at 2pm. Appleton Street Studios artist Jeff Martin contributes annually to this event.

With recycling high on her list of priorities, 25-year-old artist Laura Labrin from Brunswick East has won the inaugural Sandra Bardas Studio Grant for her innovative and creative development using videotape as a new material.
